Every building has a story. Ours began long before we ever served our first burger. Built in the 1940s, these walls have been a cornerstone of the Notus community, serving travelers and locals alike as a Flying A and later a 76 Station. They’ve seen decades of change, but one thing has always remained: a spirit of welcome and service. We’re just the latest chapter in a long and wonderful history.
Read Our StoryFor years, we drove past this building and saw more than just a vacant space. We saw a landmark with stories left to tell, a piece of local history waiting for its next chapter. In 2010, we decided to take on the challenge ourselves.
The renovation was a labor of love, driven by a simple vision: to honor the building’s past while creating a warm, welcoming space for families to gather. We wanted to build more than a restaurant; we wanted to create a community hub where the coffee is always hot and everyone feels at home. The Garage Cafe was born from that dream, blending the soul of a classic service station with the heart of a home-cooked meal.
At the heart of everything we do are three simple words that guide every decision we make.
It’s in the details. It means hand-rolling every half-pound burger patty from fresh, locally sourced Idaho beef and hand-breading our chicken fried steak so it’s perfectly crisp every time.
You can taste it in our signature country gravy, made from scratch in our kitchen every morning, and in our creative, car-themed burgers that are built to impress.
It’s how we treat our team and every guest who walks through our door. It means creating a fun, community-driven dining experience where you’re not just a customer—you’re part of the story.
We’re not just serving food; we’re sharing our journey and inviting you to become a part of it. Come on in, find your favorite booth, and experience a meal that’s rooted in history and served with heart. We can’t wait to see you.
